To configure Comply for NF525 compliance, follow these steps:
Step 1. Complete Your Business Details
Legal Form: Select your company’s legal structure from the dropdown menu. Make sure you choose the legal form that matches your official company registration documents.
Company name: Enter the full legal name of your company exactly as it appears in official records.
Name and surname: Enter your name and surname in case you select Micro-entrepeneur or Entrepreneur individuel from the legal form dropdown.
Address: Enter your company’s registered office address. This must be the official address registered with the authorities.
Postcode: Enter the postal code corresponding to the registered address. Ensure the postcode matches the city and official records.
City: Enter the city where your company is legally registered.
Business Registration Section
SIREN: Enter your company’s SIREN number (9-digit French business identification number).
NAF Code: Enter your company’s NAF Code, which indicates your main business activity. Is composed of four digits and one letter
VAT Number: If your company has a VAT number, enter it in the required format: FR99999999999
If your company is exempt from VAT, check the box:
“My business has VAT exemption” When this option is selected:
The message “VAT not applicable – Article 293B of CGI” will be automatically added to your tickets.
This indicates that your business operates under the French VAT exemption regime.
💡 Important: Only select this option if your company is legally exempt from VAT under French tax regulations.
Step 2: Register your locations
In this step, you must enter the SIRET number for each business location operating in France as a Point of Sale.
The SIRET number is a 14-digit identification number.
It is composed of:
The 9-digit SIREN number (company identifier)
A 5-digit: Location identifier
Every store, branch, or establishment must be registered separately.
How to Register a Location:
Click Register next to the relevant store.
Enter the correct 5-digit SIRET number.
Confirm and save the information.
The status will update to Registered once completed.
Step 3: Review tax settings
Review your tax configuration to ensure that VAT is being calculated and collected correctly according to your applicable jurisdictions.

After confirming that your tax settings are correctly configured, review the agreement and proceed with the setup process.
Step 4: Review terms and conditions
Read the terms and conditions carefully,
Formally confirm your acceptance.
The timestamped acceptance of the terms constitutes legal proof of your contractual commitment to the NF525-certified solution.
Step 5: Add Comply to the Smart grid
In order for the application to record your transactions in the Shopify POS channel, you must enable the application. To do so:
Go to Sales Channels > Point of Sale > Settings.
Go to POS Applications.
Search for Comply POS UI Assistant.
Click “Add” in the smart grid tile
To access with a single click, tap “Add Comply to Smart Grid”
Once Comply is added to the Smart grid, continue with the process.
If you experience issues activating Comply customizations in Shopify POS (Step 3 in the SII configuration or Step 4 in the Verifactu configuration), it may be because you have not previously accessed the Shopify POS app. Please proceed as follows:
Download the Shopify POS app (available for iOS and Android).
Log in to your store using your email address or by entering the activation code displayed on screen (below the QR code).
Go to https://shopify.com/activate and enter the 6-letter code.Once logged in, return to the Comply setup and click again on the button to activate the Comply app, or follow these steps manually:
Go to Sales channels > Point of Sale > Settings in Shopify Admin.
Under General > POS apps.
Open Comply POS UI Assistant.
Click Add for both available POS customizations.
Step 6: Activate Comply
This step enables compliant in-store sales in France.
Go to Sales Channels > Point of Sale > Settings.
Press "Activate" in the red banner
To access with a single click, tap "Go to Point of sale" and activate Comply app
Once Comply is activated, you can use your POS as usual.
