Starting from Shopify POS version 11.3, it is mandatory to operate with Comply installed and properly configured in order to comply with the NF525 certified cash register (logiciel de caisse) requirements. If Comply is not installed or your configuration is incomplete, Shopify POS will lock and you will no longer be able to access your point of sale.
This guide walks you through the steps to unblock Shopify POS.
Step 1 — Install Comply
If you have not yet installed Comply, go to the Shopify App Store and install the application. Once installation is complete, proceed to step 2.
Step 2 — Complete the Onboarding Process
After installation, you will be guided through an onboarding process to configure your business according to regulatory requirements.
The most important step to continue operating normally at your point of sale is registering the SIRET number for each location. The NF525 standard requires all merchants to register their SIRET for each of their establishments.
⚠️ Until the SIRET for a location is registered, Shopify POS for that location will remain locked.
Step 3 — Manage Your Locations
During onboarding, you can register the SIRET for all of your locations or just some of them. Once the onboarding process is complete, you will be automatically redirected to the Locations section of Comply, where you can view all of your establishments: those already registered and those that are not yet registered (Unregistered). From this section, you can add the SIRET to any remaining locations to unblock them.
How to Add a SIRET to an Unregistered Location
1. In Comply, go to the Locations section.
2. Find the location(s) marked as Unregistered.
3. Click on the location and enter its SIRET number.
4. Save the changes. Shopify POS for that location will be immediately unblocked.
Note: Repeat these steps for each unregistered location. Each establishment must have its SIRET registered independently for Shopify POS to be unblocked.
