In Spain, tax regulations require you to record, validate, and in some cases automatically report every point-of-sale transaction to the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT). Comply handles these requirements natively within Shopify POS.

Supported Tax Regimes

Comply supports the three tax regimes that apply in Spain:

Regime

Description

Verifactu

Comply automatically sends invoicing records to the AEAT in real time every time you generate an invoice.

SII (Immediate Supply of Information)

Comply acts as the fiscal ledger for your Shopify POS sales. It records each transaction with sequential numbering and stores all fiscal data in a structured format. Under SII, Comply does not automatically report invoices to the AEAT — you'll need to export the records in structured format and import them into your SII submission software.

TicketBAI

Comply automatically sends invoicing records to the relevant Regional Tax Authority (Diputación Foral) in real time on every Shopify POS transaction.

How It Works at the Point of Sale

Comply integrates seamlessly into Shopify POS. Every time you record a sale, return, or exchange, Comply:

  1. Captures the transaction data from Shopify POS.

  2. Generates the legal elements required by your configured regime — sequential invoice numbering and, depending on the regime, a chained hash and QR code.

  3. Sends the records to the AEAT (Verifactu) or to the relevant Diputación Foral (TicketBAI). Under SII, stores the data and makes it available for structured export.

  4. Prints all legally required information on the receipt, in compliance with invoicing law and your business's regime.
